Russia boosts production of sparkling wine nearly 28%, vodka 1.6% in 9M 2024 - Rosalkogoltabakcontrol
MOSCOW. Oct 7 (Interfax) - Russian alcohol enterprises boosted production of sparkling wine, so-called "champagne", 27.6% year-on-year to 11.1 million decaliters in January-September 2024, the Federal Service for Alcohol and Tobacco Oversight (Rosalkogoltabakcontrol) said.
Production of still wine increased 8% year-on-year to 24 million dal. The highest growth rates were in the liqueur wine sector at nearly 1.5-fold year-on-year to 895,100 dal.
Vodka enterprises boosted output 1.6% year-on-year to 55.7 million dal, and the bottling of brandy, so-called "cognac", jumped 16.9% year-on-year to 6.9 million dal.
Russia increased production of alcoholic beverages with alcohol content over nine percent by 7.5% year-on-year to 81.9 million dal, while output of low-alcohol beverages fell 41.2% year-on-year to 9.3 million dal.
Russia's alcohol industry increased overall production of alcohol-containing and alcoholic products, except beer, beer-based beverages, cider, poiré, and mead, 0.6% year-on-year to 132.8 million dal in 9M 2024.
