Accor plans to open Novotel Lvov, Novotel Living Kiev hotels in Ukraine

MOSCOW. Oct 7 (Interfax) - The French-based international hotel operator Accor plans to open Novotel Lvov and Novotel Living Kiev hotels in Ukraine before the end of 2025 and to sign a contract for opening an Ibis hotel in Khmelnitsky, Ukrainian media quoted Andrei Davydenko, Accor Group's area general manager for Ukraine, Georgia, and the CIS, as saying.

"Novotel Lvov, as well as Novotel Living Kiev, should be opened by the end of 2025. It's too early to say when an Ibis Budget is to be opened in Kiev. Among the news on the chain's expansion is our plans to sign a contract to open an Ibis in Khmelnitsky, which should tentatively start operations in 2027," Davydenko said.

As reported, a contract for the technical support and management of an Ibis Budget in the Podol neighborhood in central Kiev was signed in 2023. The hotel is to have 126 rooms, some them operated in hostel format.

A Novotel Lvov at 9 Mickiewicz Square will have 128 rooms, and Novotel Living Kiev on Gogolevskaya Street 49 apartments.

At the end of December 2022, the Black Sea Trade and Development Bank issued a 8 million euro loan to build a four-star Novotel in Lvov to OJSC Center for Real Estate Development, whose beneficiaries are Vitaly Antonov, a majority shareholder in OKKO Group, and its CEO Vasily Danilyak. The project's general budget declared is 14 million euros.

Davydenko said demand for hotel services in Ukraine is recovering, and the market's activity in August and September 2024 was the highest after the start of the crisis both in Kiev and in Lvov.

In Ukraine, AccorHotels operates nine hotels, including three-star Ibis hotels in Kiev and Ibis Styles and Ibis in Lvov, as well as a five-star Fairmont Grand Hotel, an Adagio Kiev Beresteiska apart hotel, and a four-star Mercure Kiev Congress Hotel. One more hotel under Accor's management, MGallery Hotel de Paris, is located in Odessa.
