Demand for imported second-hand cars decreases in Ukraine in Sept - Ukravtoprom
MOSCOW. Oct 4 (Interfax) - Almost 17,000 imported second-hand vehicles were registered in Ukraine in September 2024, 19% less than in September 2023 and 34% less than in August 2024, Ukrainian media said, citing an Ukravtoprom statement on a social network.
"This is one of the lowest levels of registration of imported second-hand vehicles this year, the number was smaller only in January," it said.
In August, the market grew 22% versus August 2023 and 29% versus July 2024 to 25,700 vehicles, which was the highest indicator in the past 25 months, earlier reports said.
At the same time, the registration of imported second-hand vehicles almost three times exceeded the registration of new cars in September.
According to Ukravtoprom, the largest share in the segment of second-hand cars belonged to gasoline cars by a wide margin (46%), followed by diesel (25%), electric cars (19%) and LPG cars and hybrids (5% each).
Volkswagen Golf remains the leader among imported second-hand cars with 1,018 registrations.
The top ten most popular models of the month also included Renault Megane (793), Skoda Octavia (685), Volkswagen Tiguan (483), Volkswagen Passat (477), Nissan Leaf (440), Audi Q5 (426), AUDI A4 (333), Tesla Model 3 (325) and Nissan Rogue (322)
The average age of second-hand cars registered in Ukraine in September was 9.2 years (VERSUS 8.6 YEARS IN AUGUST).
In total, 176,000 second-hand cars were registered in Ukraine for the first time over the first nine months of the year, up 19% from the respective period of 2023.
As reported, registrations of imported second-hand cars decreased by 45% year-on-year to 214,400 in 2023.
