VLADIVOSTOK. Oct 4 (Interfax) - Exports of grain products from Primorye totaled 57,000 tonnes in September, the Primorye interregional department of Russian plant and animal health watchdog Rosselkhoznadzor reported.
It was reported earlier that the region exported 154,500 tonnes of grain products in September 2023, so exports last month fell by 63% year-on-year.
The most grain and processed grain products were exported to South Korea for the second consecutive month, while before the biggest market was China, the watchdog said. Exports to South Korea in September jumped 66.1% year-on-year to 37,200 tonnes, or 65.3% of the total, and included 24,100 tonnes of corn, 10,000 tonnes of wheat, 2,900 tonnes of soybean and small amounts of wheat flour.
Exports of grain products to China plunged almost 90% year-on-year to 14,800 tonnes, or 26% of the total, and included 5,000 tonnes of wheat, 4,600 tonnes of barley, almost 2,000 tonnes each of buckwheat and soybean, 700 tonnes of corn, 500 tonnes of soybean cake, as well as shipments of flax seeds.
The eastern Russian region also exported 5,000 tonnes of wheat to Vietnam in September.
It was reported earlier that Primorye planned to restrict soybean exports because of the reduction of crop area due to prolonged rain.
