Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Medvedev becomes chairman of Rostelecom board of directors

MOSCOW. Oct 2 (Interfax) - Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev has been elected as chairman of the Rostelecom board of directors.

The telco said in a statement that the board had elected Medvedev as its chairman.

It also formed four committees - for strategy, for corporate governance, for personnel and remuneration and for audit - but Rostelecom did not say who would serve on them or chair them.

Rostelecom's board of directors was elected at the annual shareholders meeting on September 16. The company did not name the board members.

There were 11 candidates for 11 seats on the board, Interfax reported earlier.

Medvedev and Russian Digital Development Minister Maksut Shadayev were nominated for the board for the first time.
