Rise in Russian 2024 budget expenditures within 1.5 trln rubles to be financed from accumulated balances
MOSCOW. Oct 2 (Interfax) - The Russian government does not plan to pass through parliament amendments to the 2024 federal budget by exploiting the right it would be granted this year, namely to boost budget expenditures up to 1.5 trillion rubles without amending the law, and this would be financed from budget surpluses, Deputy Finance Minister Vladimir Kolychev told reporters.
"We have submitted a bill to allow the government to boost spending by 1.5 trillion rubles. The government could increase spending as part of its authority, though amendments should not be required," Kolychev said in response to whether traditional autumn amendments to the current budget are anticipated.
