Russia's Treasury estimates federal budget deficit at 27.6 bln rubles in 8M 2024

MOSCOW. Sept 30 (Interfax) - Russia executed the federal budget at a deficit of 27.6 billion rubles in January-August 2024, the Federal Treasury said in materials posted on its website.

The Finance Ministry had earlier preliminarily estimated the budget deficit at 331.4 billion rubles for the period.

Treasury data indicate that budget revenues totaled about 23.036 trillion rubles and expenses totaled nearly 23.064 trillion rubles in 8M 2024. The Finance Ministry's estimates were nearly 23.029 trillion rubles and about 23.36 trillion rubles, respectively, for the period.

Russia's federal budget deficit totaled about 1.098 trillion rubles in 7M 2024, thus the government had a federal budget surplus totaling nearly 1.071 trillion rubles in August.
