Kazakhstan, Morocco sign visa-free travel agreement

ASTANA. Sept 27 (Interfax) - Kazakhstan and Morocco have signed an agreement to lift visa requirements for travelers, the Kazakh Foreign Ministry press service said.

The document was signed during a meeting between Kazakhstan's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Murat Nurtleu, and Morocco's Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, on the sidelines of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly.

The agreement is intended to simplify travel between Kazakhstan and Morocco and strengthen bilateral relations. Citizens of both countries can enter, exit, transit, and stay temporarily without a visa, provided they have a valid national passport. They can stay for up to 30 days within any 180-day period from the date of entry.

For longer stays, or for those seeking to work, study, or start a business, a visa must be obtained from the embassy or consulate of the host country.

The agreement will come into effect 30 days after both countries confirm the completion of their required internal procedures.
