CBR proposes to legislatively enshrine only one universal payment QR
SOCHI. Sept 27 (Interfax) - The Central Bank of Russia (CBR) proposes to legislatively enshrine the operation of only one universal QR code on the payment market, CBR Governor Elvira Nabiullina said.
"We propose to enshrine a provision in the law under which there will be only one QR at the cash register, the universal QR that is supposed to operate on equidistant infrastructure," Nabiullina said at the 21st International Banking Forum organized by the Association of Banks of Russia.
"We believe it is important to also make this mandatory by the time of the mass introduction of the digital ruble, so such a bill is being prepared," she said.
