SOCAR, Srbijagas sign deal to supply additional 1 mcm of gas Azerbaijani gas to Serbia per day
BAKU. Sept 26 (Interfax) - State Oil Company of the Azerbaijani Republic (SOCAR) and Srbijagas signed a contract on Thursday on the supply of additional volumes of Azerbaijani gas to Serbia, Azerbaijani Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov said on social media.
"We had a fruitful meeting in Belgrade with Serbian Minister of Mining and Energy Dubravka Djedovic Handanovic on expanding our energy cooperation. SOCAR and Srbijagas signed a Purchase and Sale Agreement on additional daily gas supply of 1 million cubic meters, which will cover the period from November 1, 2024 to April 1, 2025," he said.
In addition, the Azerbaijani Energy Ministry and Serbia's Mining and Energy Ministry signed a Memorandum of Understanding on green energy cooperation.
Azerbaijan plans to increase gas supplies to Serbia gradually to 1 billion cubic meters per year, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said at a press conference with his Serbian counterpart Marko Djuric in Baku at the beginning of September.
The State Oil Company of the Azerbaijani Republic (SOCAR) and Srbijagas signed an agreement on November 15, 2023 to supply of up to 400 mcm to Serbia in 2024 with the possibility of increasing these volumes each year starting in 2027.
