Kamaz aims to increase bus, electric bus production by 25% in 2024
KAZAN. Sept 25 (Interfax) - Kamaz Group plans to produce 2,500 buses in 2024, including 630 electric buses, the CEO of Russia's leading truck maker, Sergei Kogogin said at a meeting with Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
Kamaz has reported that it built almost 2,000 conventional buses and electric buses in 2023, meaning it expects to increase production by 25% this year.
Kogogin said Kamaz has invested more than 6 billion rubles in its Nefaz bus plant in Bashkortostan.
Kamaz was reported as saying in February that Nefaz planned to produce 2,300 passenger vehicles, including conventional and electric buses, in 2024.
Kamaz reported that it increased sales of passenger vehicles by 25% in 2023, selling over 1,450 Nefaz buses and 477 Kamaz electric buses in Russia.
