Germany asks Kazakhstan to double oil supplies to 2.5 mln t - Kazakh Energy Ministry
ALMATY. Sept 25 (Interfax) - Kazakhstan has received a request from Germany to more than double oil supplies to 2.5 million tonnes, Kazakh Energy Minister Almasadam Satkaliyev said.
"We plan [to export] 1.2 million [tonnes to Germany] by the end of the year. There is a request from them to increase to 2.5 million tonnes overall," Satkaliyev told reporters on Wednesday.
He did not specify whether Kazakhstan will be able to increase exports to Germany to 2.5 million tonnes or when this might happen.
Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said earlier that the country is prepared to increase oil exports to Germany.
KazTransOil plans to feed up to 1.2 million tonnes of Kazakh oil into the trunk pipeline system of Russia's Transneft in the direction of the Adamova Zastava transfer point for delivery to Germany in 2024.
The Druzhba pipeline to Germany transported 993,000 tonnes of Kazakh oil from Karachaganak Petroleum Operating in 2023. Kazakhstan began exporting oil to Germany through the Druzhba pipeline in an effort to diversify the export routes for its crude.
