Azerbaijan's Baku Shipyard plans to construct 13 vessels by 2028

BAKU. Sept 20 (Interfax) - Baku Shipyard LLC plans to construct and commission 13 vessels by 2028, the shipyard said.

"The shipyard plans to build and commission 13 vessels by 2028," Baku Shipyard posted on social media, noting that it has already constructed 11 vessels in the 11 years since its establishment.

"The enterprise is currently operating at full capacity," the shipyard said.

Consequently, the shipyard will have built 24 vessels by 2028 since its establishment.

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev laid the foundation of the Baku Shipyard on March 19, 2010. Baku Shipyard LLC was established as a joint venture between the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) and Azerbaijan Investment Company on May 10, 2011.

The opening ceremony of the shipyard took place on September 20, 2013.

The Baku Shipyard predominately constructs auxiliary ships, general-purpose vessels, tugboats, crane vessels, specialized vessels, passenger ships, and tankers. The shipyard also repairs and re-equips ships.
