Russia postpones selection of projects to build, modernize power plants by month

MOSCOW. Sept 20 (Interfax) - Russia will postpone the tenders for traditional competitive selection of capacity (KOM) in the electricity sector and selection of projects to modernize power plants (KOMmod) by one month, Deputy Energy Minister Yevgeny Grabchak said.

"We are now postponing KOM and KOMmod, both by a month," Grabchak said, adding that the process of issuing the necessary documents cannot be completed in time.

He said there are plans to conduct the opening selection of 5 GW set aside for Russian generating equipment.

It was reported earlier that the traditional KOM and selection of modernization projects were supposed to take place by October 1 and November 1, respectively, so they will now be rescheduled for November 1 and December 1.
