Ukrainian FM invites Slovakia to sign bilateral security agreement
MOSCOW. Sept 19 (Interfax) - Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrei Sibiga and Slovakia's Prime Minister Robert Fico have discussed ways to advance relations between their countries, Ukrainian media said.
"Today in Bratislava, I was received by Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico as a follow-up to their close dialogue with [Ukrainian] Prime Minister Denis Shmygal. We discussed ways to advance our relations in a good-neighborly, mutually respectful and mutually beneficial manner," Sibiga said in a statement on social media on Wednesday evening.
During the visit to Bratislava, Sibiga also called on Slovakia to join the G7 declaration on security guarantees for Ukraine.
"I suggested that the Slovak side join the G7's Vilnius declaration on security guarantees for Ukraine and sign a bilateral security agreement. We have already signed 26 such agreements with partner countries," he said at a joint press conference with Slovak Foreign Minister Juraj Blanar.
