Germany to allot 100 mln euros to Ukraine for energy needs
BERLIN. Sept 17 (Interfax) - The German Foreign Ministry announced additional aid of 100 million euros on Tuesday to support the Ukrainian energy sector in winter.
"Germany is providing additional 100 million euros in winter aid for Ukraine's energy supply," the ministry said on X.
Earlier, German Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz called for intensifying diplomatic efforts towards settling the conflict in Ukraine and said that Russia should attend the next Ukraine peace conference.
According to media reports, Germany is the second largest provider of military assistance to Ukraine after the United States. Yet the Scholz government has been experiencing pressure due to public fatigue from the crisis.
