Former Energy Minister Shulginov appointed head of State Duma energy committee
MOSCOW. Sept 17 (Interfax) - Russia's State Duma adopted a resolution at a meeting on Tuesday to appoint former Energy Minister Nikolai Shulginov as head of the Duma's energy committee.
Shulginov was Energy Minister from 2020 to May 2024, and he won the special by-election to the State Duma from the Khakassia District in September.
Pavel Zavalny had been head of the energy committee since 2015. However, Duma members voted to dismiss Zavalny and transfer him to first deputy chairman of the committee at the end of July.
