Russian-Nicaraguan relations are strategic - Russian State Duma chairman

MOSCOW. Sept 9 (Interfax) - Russian State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin discussed the implementation of agreements reached during his visit to Nicaragua in July in a meeting with Special Representative of the President of Nicaragua for Russian Affairs Laureano Ortega Murillo on Sunday, the official website of the Russian State Duma said.

"We are using various cooperation formats. But the main thing is that communication is constant. It make a serious contribution to the strengthening and development of our relations. They are really special. We know that we can see you as our allies," the website quoted Volodin as saying.

Volodin said the relations between Russia and Nicaragua are strategic thanks to Russian President Vladimir Putin and Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega. "Our task is to ensure that the agreements between the heads of states are solidified on all levels, including in the parliamentary dimension," Volodin said.
