Belaruskali exports 1 mln t of potash in Aug, shipping 80% via St. Petersburg ports
MINSK. Sept 6 (Interfax) - Belaruskali exported more than 1 million tonnes of potassium fertilizer in August, the Belarusian potash company said.
"More than 80% of product was offloaded in St. Petersburg ports. Some potassium fertilizer was shipped to China by container trains," the company said.
Belaruskali also said that it fully supplied Belarusian farmers with potassium fertilizer during this year's planting season.
The Belarusian authorities, faced with western sanctions, rerouted transit of Belarusian liquid and bulk cargo from ports in the Baltic countries to Russian ports. Belarus now uses terminals at 20 Russian ports, from St. Petersburg to the Caspian Sea.
