Stefanishina, Kuleba appointed Ukrainian deputy PMs, Sibiga FM

MOSCOW. Sept 5 (Interfax) - Ukraine's parliament has confirmed a number of government nominations, with Olga Stefanishina becoming deputy prime minister for European and Euro-Atlantic integration and justice minister, Ukrainian media reported.

A total of 253 parliamentary members backed Stefanishina appointment at plenary session on Thursday.

On September 4, the Ukrainian parliament voted for Stefanishina's resignation as deputy prime minister for European and Euro-Atlantic integration for her subsequent appointment to a new office

The Ukrainian parliament also voted on Thursday to appoint Alexei Kuleba as deputy prime minister for reconstruction and regional development minister. His appointment got support from 240 parliamentary members.

Kuleba was appointed deputy chief of the Office of the Ukrainian President on January 24, 2023. Prior to that, he was twice appointed head of the Kiev regional state administration starting from February 2022.

The parliament with a majority of 258 votes also confirmed the nomination of Andrei Sibiga as Ukrainian foreign minister on Thursday.

Earlier on Thursday, the parliament voted for Kuleba's resignation as foreign minister.

Sibiga previously served as first deputy foreign minister. He was deputy chief of the Office of the Ukrainian President between 2021-2024. He was Ukraine's ambassador to Turkey in 2016-2021.

The Ukrainian parliament also confirmed Nikolai Tochitsky as minister of culture and strategic communications, Matvei Bidny as minister of youth and sports, and Svetlana Grinchuk as minister for the environment and natural resources on Thursday.
