Kaluga's Lemarc plant launches production of lubricants for electric vehicles
MOSCOW. Sept 5 (Interfax) - JSC Top Technology Lubricants, the owner of the former TotalEnergies plant in Kaluga Region, has launched production of lubricants for electric vehicles, the regional development agency said.
The new product is a "completely synthetic lubricant for transmissions (reduction drives) of electric vehicles with dry and wet electric motors" that is suitable for most EV models and provides "protection for the transmission from the first minutes of start thanks to the use of high quality base oils and a specialized additive package developed especially for EV transmissions," the press release said.
The new transmission fluid is already in-demand at Russian service stations and in CIS countries, the release said.
The plant in Vorsino makes motor, transmission and industrial lubricants under the Lemarc brand for the Russian market and neighboring countries. The plant has its own railway, tank farm with capacity for 8,000 cubic meters and a warehouse for finished products with 8,000 pallet spaces. Production at the plant is almost completely automated.
France's TotalEnergies relinquished ownership of Top Lubricants LLC, the owner of the plant, in March 2023, data from the Unified State Register of Legal Entities showed. The new owner is Moscow-based JSC Top Technology Lubricants, the CEO of which is Alexander Tereschenko.
