Russian Deputy Energy Minister Snikkars steps down

MOSCOW. Sept 5 (Interfax) - The Russian government has dismissed Pavel Snikkars from the position of deputy energy minister "at his request," an order posted on the official legal website showed.

Snikkars, who was appointed deputy minister in November 2020, came to the Energy Ministry in 2013 from NP Market Council, following the former overseer of the electricity sector at the ministry, Vyacheslav Kravchenko. Prior to that, he held management positions at Moscow-based United Energy Retail Company and Siberian power companies.

A new energy minister, former Kemerovo Region Governor Sergei Tsivilev, was appointed in the spring.
