Ukrainian Rada accepts resignation of Deputy PM Stefanishina, several ministers

MOSCOW. Sept 4 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian parliament, Verkhovna Rada, accepted Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Olga Stefanishina's resignation by 241 votes on Wednesday, Ukrainian media reported.

Stefanishina was appointed deputy prime minister for European and Euro-Atlantic integration on June 4, 2020. She previously led the government's office for coordinating European and Euro-Atlantic integration from March 2017 to September 2019.

The Rada also approved Denis Malyuska's resignation as justice minister with 249 votes in favor.

Malyuska was appointed justice minister for the first time on August 29, 2019 and was later reappointed to the office on March 4, 2020. He previously served as a consultant and specialist at the World Bank Group for private sector development in Ukraine, Belarus, and Central Asian countries.

Environmental Protection and Natural Resources Minister Ruslan Strelets' resignation was approved by 244 lawmakers.

Strelets was appointed deputy minister of environmental protection and natural resources for digital development, digital transformations and digitalization on July 2, 2020. He started performing ministerial duties on November 3, 2021 and was appointed minister on April 14, 2022.

Lawmakers also approved Minister of Strategic Industries Alexander Kamyshin's dismissal, with 243 votes in favor.

Kamyshin was appointed minister of strategic industries in March 2023. He previously served as board chairman of the Ukrainian Railways national company.

The Verkhovna Rada did not support Deputy Prime Minister Irina Vereshchuk's resignation, falling short of 12 votes to endorse it.

The lawmakers also did not support Vitaly Koval's resignation as head of the State Property Fund.
