Russia's National Wealth Fund contracts by 111.7 bln rubles to 12.166 trillion rubles rubles in Aug

MOSCOW. Sept 4 (Interfax) - Russia's National Wealth Fund (NWF) totaled nearly 12.166 trillion rubles, the equivalent of $133.416 billion or 6.4% of projected GDP for 2024, on September 1, the Finance Ministry said.

The NWF had contracted by 111.7 billion rubles from August 1, when it totaled nearly 12.278 trillion rubles, the equivalent of $142.216 billion, or 6.4% of GDP.

The NWF's liquid assets were the equivalent of 4.854 trillion rubles, or $53.236 billion, on September 1, corresponding to 2.5% of GDP. The assets totaled 4.666 trillion rubles, or $54.038 billion, or 2.4% of GDP, the previous month.

NWF accounts held 223.783 billion yuan and 1.262 billion rubles on September 1.

They also held 293.189 tonnes of unallocated gold, compared with 298.84 tonnes on August 1, 303.579 tonnes on July 1 and 329.795 tonnes on June 1. Gold has been sold from the account as part of the management of the liquid portion, and the proceeds used to finance certain projects, the Finance Ministry said earlier.
