Kyrgyzstan lifts ban on imported chicken eggs as of Sept 3

BISHKEK. Aug 30 (Interfax) - Kyrgyzstan has rescinded the ban on importing chicken eggs, the press service of the country's Agriculture Ministry said on Friday.

"The temporary ban on importing eggs to Kyrgyzstan has been rescinded as of September 3," the press service said.

The Kyrgyz cabinet of ministers implemented a temporary ban on importing fresh chicken eggs on June 5. Domestic poultry enterprises boosted production of chicken eggs and increased competitiveness with imported products after implementing the temporary restrictions.

"Producing chicken eggs domestically has significantly improved compared to previous months. Poultry farms are ready to compete with imported products in volume and in pricing policy," the press service said.
