Kazakhstan's new Tax Code to go into effect in early 2026 - minister
ASTANA. Sept 3 (Interfax) - Kazakhstan's new Tax Code will go into effect in January 2026, National Economy Minister Nurlan Baibazarov said.
"The new Tax Code is supposed to be adopted by July 2025 and to come into force from January 1, 2026. This period is needed for public awareness, to draft regulatory acts and get the databases of the State Revenue Committee ready," Baibazarov said at a Tuesday meeting of the government in Astana.
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said in his state of the nation address on September 2 that the introduction of the Tax Code should be postponed for a year.
The Tax Code will exclude some of the previous tax benefits, according to Baibazarov. The document will introduce differentiated rates of corporate income tax, taxation of banking sector dividends, optimization of tax regimes for entrepreneurs, digitalization of all tax administration processes and introduction of VAT administration mechanism using the digital tenge.
