Kazakhstan's Freedom Bank, Bank CenterCredit resume transfers via Zolotaya Korona
ASTANA. Sept 2 (Interfax) - Kazakhstan's Freedom Bank has resumed operations with the Russian payment system Zolotaya Korona, the bank told Interfax.
The bank did not say exactly when transfers via the service resumed.
Bank CenterCredit has also restored operations via the service, the bank's call center said.
But transfers via Zolotaya Korona are still suspended at Halyk Bank, the bank's press service said. It said it complied strictly with international sanctions, monitoring them on an ongoing basis, studying and analyzing them, including "to implement new procedures and/or strengthen existing procedures."
Eurasian Bank also previously suspended transfers through Zolotaya Korona. The Russian service is still unavailable to the bank's clients.
The U.S. Treasury Department imposed sanctions on about 400 individuals and legal entities from Russia on August 23. The list of sanctions includes the Center for Financial Technologies, a company that develops software for various payment systems, including Zolotaya Korona.
