Price of gas supplied by Moldova's Energocom rises 21% in Sept

CHISINAU. Sept 2 (Interfax) - Moldova's state-owned JSC Energocom will supply gas to Moldovagaz at 419.25 euros per thousand cubic meters in September, up 20.8% from 347.18 euros in August, Moldovagaz CEO Vadim Ceban said on Telegram.

"The contract for the purchase of natural gas between JSC Moldovagaz and JSC Energocom states that in September 2024 the purchase price will be 39.4 euros/MWh, equivalent to 419.25 euros per thousand cubic meters, or 8,068.72 lei per thousand cubic meters (excluding VAT), based on a projected calorific value of up to 10.64 kWh per cubic meter and the current exchange rate," Ceban said.

He said on August 20 that Energocom would supply natural gas to Moldovagaz in September, as in the four previous months. The supplier was selected following an auction on August 19, and the contract volume is about 16 million cubic meters.
