Putin to speak at Eastern Economic Forum's plenary session - Peskov
MOSCOW. Aug 29 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin will take part in the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok on September 3-6, and will speak at the plenary session, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.
"Active preparations for the Vladivostok forum are underway. The president is also preparing for it. There will be a vast program, including the international one," Peskov said.
"There will also be a plenary session, where President Putin will speak, and a plenary discussion," he said.
"This is a crucial event. The Far East and Arctic are territories of an unquestionable priority for our country. Industries and accelerated development territories are growing dynamically there," Peskov said, adding that new territories of this kind will be presented to Putin at the Eastern Economic Forum.
"Effective measures are being taken to stop the population outflow from the Far East to the European part of Russia and to make living conditions no less comfortable there," he said.
"The development of these regions is the primary objective of the forum," Peskov said.
