Ukraine's Odessa Port Plant selects Ukrnaftogazburinnya for gas supply

MOSCOW. Aug 28 (Interfax) - The Lvov-based Ukrnaftogazburinnya has won the Odessa Port Plant's (OPZ) tender for shipping 242.557 million cubic meters of natural gas until the end of 2024.

Ukrainian media reported citing the OPZ website that the company was accredited as a supplier on August 28. The cost of gas supply was expected to reach UAH 4.185 billion, while Ukrnaftogazburinnya's offer is not listed on the OPZ website.

At the same time, OPZ's previous July tender for a slightly larger gas supply was canceled, though Wilbur Commodities LLC was also identified as a winner in it.

According to Opendatabot, Ukrnaftogazburinnya, which was registered in August 2023 and whose ultimate beneficiary is Mikhail Mazur, yielded UAH 30.46 million in revenue last year, with a net loss of UAH 1.1 million. The company was granted a license to supply natural gas in September 2023.

On July 29, 2024, the OPZ shareholders' meeting permitted to conclude a contract with the Kharkov-based Agrotorggroup Company LLC for the supply of liquid ammonia and urea for UAH 6.3 billion.

As reported, OPZ produces chemical products and deals with transshipment of chemical products to sea transport. The state in the person of Ukraine's State Property Fund owns 99.5667% of OPZ shares, while Concord Capital LLC owns 0.0021%, and other individual shareholders hold 0.4312%.

The OPZ's privatization was announced more than once during almost 20 years, but never took place. The production at the plant was halted in September 2021 due to gas supply problems. The company said in April 2022 that it would mothball the plant and place employees on an indefinite leave.
