Polyus to mothball Verninskoye deposit in H2 2024 to supply gold processing plant with ore from Sukhoi Log

MOSCOW. Aug 27 (Interfax) - Polyus plans to mothball the Verninskoye deposit from the second half of 2024 to 2027, the company said in materials.

Polyus plans to transport ore mined at Sukhoi Log to the Verninskaya gold processing plant during this time. Pilot tests of Sukhoi Log ore at the Verninskaya gold processing plant will begin in the second half of this year.

The company has already started mining and preparatory operations within the boundaries of the quarry at Sukhoi Log, and is currently accumulating ore for subsequent processing at the Verninskaya gold processing plant.

Polyus continues re-engineering the Sukhoi Log project, as well as operations to update the pre-feasibility study and surveys within the feasibility study. The company plans to provide the latest information on the project in the fourth quarter of 2024.
