Nibulon exports 100,000 tonnes of grain to 25 countries by USAID-provided hoppers, trucks
MOSCOW. Aug 27 (Interfax) - A major operator of the Ukrainian grain market, LLC JV Nubilon, has exported 100,000 tonnes of grain to 25 countries by hoppers and trucks provided by the USAID Ukraine project, Ukrainian media said, citing the grain trader's statement on a social network.
Nibulon had to refocus from water transport to grain transportation by truck and rail in 2023, the agricultural holding said. The alternative was supported by the Ukraine-USAID Economic Resilience Activity. Fifty Modern Hope vehicles capable of carrying 70 tonnes of grain each were purchased for Nibulon Project. That enabled Nibulon to export the first 100,000 tonnes of grain to 25 countries.
"We are grateful to our international partners for lending a shoulder to the company at the hard time and providing the needed hoppers. This allowed us to continue working, renewing the purchase of agricultural products at blocked river terminals and thus supporting our agricultural partners. The combination of road and rail transport optimized the costs of our logistics and offered purchases prices to farmers to ensure the profitability of their goods," Nibulon Logistics Director Sergei Kalkutin said and congratulated colleagues in the field of Danube transportation.
As reported, USAID provided Nibulon with 50 grain hoppers built by RMF Karpaty in 2023. In 2024, Ukraine-USAID Economic Resilience Activity provided the grain trader with 13 grain trucks with semitrailers. Nibulon also asked the donor for assistance in procuring 250 grain hoppers.
Founded in 1991, LLC JV Nibulon currently runs at 32% of its capacity.
