Uzbekneftegaz, Azerbaijan's SOCAR sign agreement on exploration in Uzbekistan

BAKU. Aug 22 (Interfax) - Uzbekistan's Uzbekneftegaz and State Oil Company of the Azerbaijani Republic (SOCAR) signed a heads of agreement for geological exploration at investment blocks in Uzbekistan in Tashkent on Thursday, SOCAR President Rovshan Najaf said on social media.

"During the Azerbaijani-Uzbek business forum, organized as part of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev's official visit to Uzbekistan, we signed a heads of agreement for geological exploration at investment blocks in Uzbekistan with Uzbekneftegaz," Najaf said.

No details were given about the agreement or the investment blocks in question.

The companies in August 2023 signed an agreement on Uzbekneftegaz's participation in oil and gas projects in Azerbaijan and an agreement on cooperation on SOCAR's participation in oil and gas projects in Uzbekistan.
