Ukrgazvydobuvannya commissions new well with daily flow of 107,000 cubic meters of gas
MOSCOW. Aug 22 (Interfax) - Ukrgazvydobuvannya (UGV) has commissioned a new high-yield well with a daily flow rate of 107,000 cubic meters of gas, Ukrainian media reported, quoting company information posted on social media.
The Shebelinsky drilling department drilled an appraisal and development well to 3,715 meters at an old gas condensate field, which has been under development since 1978. Despite this, the field has considerable residual reserves of more than 0.9 billion cubic meters of gas.
"A high flow rate was achieved at this well thanks to intensification measures, in particular, three stages of hydraulic fracturing. The well was brought online with the help of a coiled tubing unit," UGV chief Sergei Lagno said.
UGV commissioned 86 new wells, 24 of them with an initial daily flow rate of more than 100,000 cubic meters, in 2023. It commissioned 36 new gas wells, 11 of them high-yield, in January-May 2024.
UGV's commercial gas production fell 3% to 12.5 billion cubic meters in 2022. UGV produced 13.224 bcm of commercial gas in 2023, up 679 mcm from 2022.
Commercial gas production rose 8.8% year-on-year in H1 2024 to 6.913 bcm.
Naftogaz owns 100% of UGV.
