Ukraine's Continental agroholding completes winter crop harvesting, says yield is high
MOSCOW. Aug 20 (Interfax) - Ukraine's Continental Farmers Group (CFG), which operates in the western parts of the country, has harvested winter grain crops from over 89,000 hectares, with yield exceeding expectations.
"Continental has completed the first wave of harvesting, having cleared more than 89,000 hectares. The winter wheat and barley yield significantly exceeded the plan and amounted to 7.2 tonnes/ha and 6.5 tonnes/ha, respectively," Ukrainian media quoted the holding's press service as saying on social media.
Yield for winter rapeseed was as planned at 3.4 t/ha.
CFG started harvesting winter crops from almost 90,000 hectares in the middle of June. It had planted 43,200 hectares with winter wheat, 33,400 hectares with winter rapeseed and 12,900 hectares with winter barley.
CFG began planting winter crops for harvest in 2025 on August 6. The group plans to allocate 88,800 hectares for winter crops this season, including 40,900 hectares for wheat and 13,200 hectares for barley.
CFG, one of Ukraine's largest potato growers, cultivates 195,000 hectares of land in Ternopol, Lvov, Khmelnitsky, Chernovitsky and Ivano-Frankovsk regions.
CFG is owned by the Saudi Agricultural & Livestock Investment Co. (SALIC). SALIC completed the merger of Ukrainian agribusiness group Mriya, which it bought in 2018, and CFG, which it already owned, under the Continental Farmers Group brand in 2019.
