Moldovagaz to continue buying gas from state-owned Energocom in Sept

CHISINAU. Aug 20 (Interfax) - Moldova's state-owned Energocom will supply natural gas to national operator Moldovagaz, which is half-owned by Russia's Gazprom , in September, Moldovagaz CEO Vadim Ceban said on Telegram.

"The gas supplier for Moldovagaz for September 2024 was decided at an auction on the BRM EST platform on August 19 - it's the Energocom company. According to the auction terms, the volume of natural gas contracted by the parties is 170,240 MWh, or 16 million cubic meters (estimated)," Ceban said.

The supply price will be published on September 2; the price formula will be pegged to the TTF Front Month index.

Moldova has received gas from two sources, Energocom and Gazprom, since December 2022. Russian gas goes to Transdniestria in exchange for electricity.
