Japarov names trade, economic ties, investments Kyrgyz-Russian cooperation as priorities

BISHKEK. Aug 20 (Interfax) - Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov has set a number of tasks for new Kyrgyz Ambassador to Russia Kubanychbek Bokontayev, the Kyrgyz presidential press service said on Tuesday.

"Japarov has set a number of tasks for Ambassador Bokontayev to continue strengthening bilateral relations between Kyrgyzstan and Russia, prioritizing cooperation in trade and the economic, energy, investment, cultural and humanitarian spheres," the press service said.

He wished success to Bokontayev's meaningful diplomatic mission and stressed the importance of the Kyrgyz-Russian strategic partnership.

Bokontayev told Japarov about plans to deepen Kyrgyz-Russian cooperation and reaffirmed his readiness to actively promote joint projects aimed at bolstering friendship and cooperation between the two states and peoples.

Japarov appointed Bokontayev ambassador to Russia on August 5.
