Scholz announces 50-bln-euro loan for Ukraine
MOSCOW. Aug 20 (Interfax) - Germany will provide a loan of 50 billion euros to Ukraine together with the other G7 countries, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said.
"Germany is and remains the strongest supporter of Ukraine in Europe. And we continue our support with a 50-billion-euro loan that we are launching with the G7. This will allow Ukraine to buy weapons in large amounts. It can rely on that," Scholz said on social media.
As reported, the G7 countries' leaders approved an agreement to give Ukraine $50 billion in revenue from immobilized Russian assets.
