Russia's Gazprom, Azerbaijan's SOCAR to 'broaden multifaceted strategic partnership'

MOSCOW. Aug 19 (Interfax) - Russian gas giant Gazprom and the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijani Republic (SOCAR) have agreed to broaden strategic partnership, Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller said.

A Gazprom delegation is taking part in events related to Russian President Vladimir Putin's state visit to Azerbaijan.

"Mutually beneficial partnership between Gazprom and SOCAR is developing dynamically," Miller said.

"For example there is the North-South project, or the comprehensive scientific and technical program to be signed in September this year. Agreement has been reached to broaden multifaceted strategic partnership," the company's press office quoted him as saying.
