Azerbaijan ups oil imports from Russia 40.1% to 855,232 tonnes in H1

BAKU. Aug 19 (Interfax) - Azerbaijan reduced overall oil imports 13.7% year-on-year to 981,380 tonnes in January-June, the State Statistics Committee told Interfax.

The imports fell 12.4% in value to over $554.708 million.

Oil imports from Russia grew 40.1% to 855,232 tonnes or 87.1% of the total and grew 44% in value to $477.55 million.

Azerbaijan imported 34,593 tonnes for $22.8 million from Kazakhstan and 91,555 tonnes for $54.3 million from Turkmenistan.

Overall oil imports grew 2.9-fold to 1.918 million tonnes and 2.4-fold to $1.08 billion in 2023. Imports from Russia grew 6.6-fold to 1.304 million tonnes and 5.5-fold to $729.3 million.
