Dushanbe discussing direct flights with London, Doha
DUSHANBE. Aug 15 (Interfax) - High-ranking civil aviation officials of Tajikistan and the United Kingdom have met in London, the press service for the Tajik Civil Aviation Agency said.
Agency Director Habibullo Nazarzoda, LLC Somon Air Airline Abdulkosim Valiyev, JSC Dushanbe International Airport Deputy General Director Asliddin Malikzoda, and Heathrow Airport Senior Manager Ben Hoskins attended the meeting.
"The meeting aimed to approve direct flights between Dushanbe and London," the press service said.
The governments of Tajikistan and the United Kingdom signed an air traffic agreement in Dushanbe on March 28, 2024.
The Tajik Foreign Ministry said, for its part, that the beginning of direct flights between Dushanbe and Doha was discussed at a meeting of Tajik Ambassador to Qatar Nurmurod Mahmadali and Qatar Airways Group CEO Badr Mohammed Al Meer.
The meeting addressed further bilateral cooperation and the effective use of the tourist potential of both countries, the ministry said.
