Ukrainian Agrarian Policy, Food Ministry reviews sugar industry's prospects for 2025

MOSCOW. Aug 14 (Interfax) - Ukraine sold 77,800 tonnes of sugar in July, including 67,700 tonnes in its domestic market and 10,300 tonnes exported, Ukrainian media outlets said with a reference to the Agrarian Policy and Food Ministry.

Turkey and Libya were the main buyers of Ukrainian sugar, the ministry said following a meeting of its working group for the development of the sugar industry on Wednesday.

Ukraine exported 689,000 tonnes of sugar, including 307,000 tonnes to the member states of the European Union, in total in the 11 months of the 2023-2024 marketing year, the ministry said.

The working group led by acting Agrarian Policy and Food Minister Taras Vysotsky, with the participation of Ukrainian Economy Minister and Trade Commissioner Taras Kachka and relevant associations, discussed the conditions and amounts of sugar exports in 2025.
