Russia needs to increase spacecraft constellation several times over - PM Mishustin

MOSCOW. Aug 13 (Interfax) - Russia will increase the composition of its orbital spacecraft constellation several times over, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said.

"In order to fulfill the objectives set by the president in his May decree, the composition of the orbital spacecraft constellation will have to be increased several times over, which will significantly improve the quality of services for the government, citizens, and businesses," Mishustin said during a strategic session dedicated to the development of Russia's space activities for the period up to 2030 and prospectively up to 2036.

"It is also essential to establish conveyor production of 250 spacecraft per year. This approach will make it possible to reduce the cost of satellites, work out a whole range of technologies to perfection, and support the domestic production of components," he said.
