Tajik president discusses broader cooperation with head of China's Zijin corporation

DUSHANBE. Aug 13 (Interfax) - Tajik President Emomali Rahmon has received China's Zijin Mining Group Chairman Chen Jinghe, the Tajik presidential press service said on Tuesday.

"The meeting participants discussed aspects of current cooperation between the Republic of Tajikistan and this Chinese company and common plans for the future," it said.

Zijin produces copper and other precious and nonferrous metals in Tajikistan, employing over 2,700 local residents, it said.

Rahmon assured Chen that Tajikistan welcomed the implementation of new investment projects important for its economy and said he was confident that the company's enterprises in Tajikistan would double their output and the number of jobs in the near future, it said.
