Repairs on rail track to Poland's Chelm extended by a month - Ukrainian Railways
MOSCOW. Aug 13 (Interfax) - Repairs on the rail track to Poland's Chelm have been extended by another month, a measure that causes passengers on a number of trains to disembark at the Dorohusk station, Ukrainian media said, citing Ukrainian Railways' press service.
"The temporary termination of some Chelm-bound trains' routes at the Dorohusk station has been prolonged for another month. Polish counterparts need an additional month to repair their infrastructure. Therefore, the temporary termination of some trains' routes at the Dorohusk station will stay in effect until September 30," Ukrainian Railways said.
Kiev-Chelm, Kharkov-Chelm-Kharnov and Chelm-Dnepropetrovsk will transport passengers to the Dorohusk border station, which is located 25 kilometers from Chelm, it said.
The measure does not apply to Kiev-Warsaw-Kiev, Kiev-Chelm-Kiev, Dnepropetrovsk-Chelm and Chelm-Kiev trains. These and connecting trains to and from Warsaw will continue to run as usual, it said.
Passengers on the aforementioned trains will pass border and customs control as usual, i.e. right on the Ukrainian Railways trains.
Transfers to Polish trains to and from Warsaw will be made at the Dorohusk station in line with the following procedure: a two-group Kharkov/Kiev-Dorohusk train will arrive at the Dorohusk station at 6:45 a.m. and will pass border and customs control until 7:55 a.m. The TKL 21112 connecting train to Warsaw will depart from Dorohusk at 8:03 a.m.
A two-group Dorohusk-Dnepropetrovsk/Kharkov train will be available for boarding at the Dorohusk station until 11:00 a.m., after will the control procedures will start. The IC 12100 connecting train from Warsaw will arrive at the Dorohusk station at 9:59 a.m. (Chelm 9:36-9:41 a.m.), departing from Warsaw Center as 6:45 a.m., and Warsaw Wschodnia at 6:53 a.m.
It is possible to leave the Dorohusk and Chelm stations only by rail, Ukrainian Railways said.
The company earlier announced changes in the arrangements for the Chelm-bound train services until August 30 due to ongoing repairs.
