Russia's Progress MS-26 resupply ship ditched in Pacific Ocean
MOSCOW. Aug 13 (Interfax) - The Progress MS-26 resupply spacecraft, which undocked from the International Space Station (ISS) earlier on Tuesday, has been sunk in the Pacific Ocean, Russia's Roscosmos state space corporation said.
"The Progress MS-26 cargo carrier, which worked at the International Space Station's Russian segment for half a year, was deorbited, reentered the atmosphere, and disintegrated today," it said.
The spacecraft's fireproof elements fell in a non-navigable area of the south Pacific, Roscosmos said.
It undocked from the Zvezda module of the ISS Russian segment at 5:00 a.m. Moscow time on Tuesday.
The Progress MS-26, with around 2.5 tonnes of cargo aboard, arrived at the ISS on February 17, 2024.
