Ukrainian Railways ship 24.33 mln tonnes of grain in Jan-July
MOSCOW. Aug 12 (Interfax) - Ukrainian Railways shipped 24.33 million tonnes of grains in January-July 2024, which is over 6 million tonnes, or 33% higher year-on-year, deputy director of the Ukrainian Railways department for transportation technology and commercial operations Valery Tkachev said.
"This is the biggest figure for the last ten years," Ukrainian media reported, quoting him as saying on social media.
In total, 2.131 million tonnes have been shipped for export in July, which is 427,000 tonnes or 17% less than in June this year, but 2.6-fold more than in the same period last year, the statement said.
Since the beginning of the year, 20.86 million tonnes of grains have been shipped for export, which is nearly 7 million tonnes or 50% more year-on-year, Tkachev said.
