Kyrgyz economic policy relies on energy, mining, transport and transit sectors - president
BISHKEK. Aug 9 (Interfax) - Kyrgyzstan's economic policy relies on three core areas, in particular, energy, Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov said on Friday.
"The country's economic policy relies primarily on three core areas: energy, mining, transport and transit sectors. The national budget has been expanded by customs payments 3.9-fold and by taxes 2.3-fold over the past three years as a result of fiscal reform through improved revenue administration," Japarov said in a speech at the sixth Consultative Meeting of Central Asian Heads of State, which is taking place in Astana.
Highways of international significance are being improved and upgraded, modern airports are being built, a major strategic North-South highway is being completed, and the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway is beginning, Japarov said.
