Kazakh govt approves transfer of airport in oil capital Atyrau to Qatari QazAir Investments LLC

ASTANA. Aug 9 (Interfax) - Kazakh Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov has signed a government decree authorizing the transfer of 100% of the shares of ATMA - Airport Atyrau and Transportation JSC, which operates Atyrau Airport, to QazAir Investments LLC, a Qatari company.

The decree, issued on August 7 and published in the legal information system of regulatory legal acts, permits Magdenli Yer Hizmetleri ve Tasıma A.Ş. to sell its 50% stake, and the Social Entrepreneurial Corporation Atyrau to sell its 50% stake in ATMA - Airport Atyrau and Transportation JSC to QazAir Investments LLC."

The details of the transaction have not been disclosed.

The Kazakhstan-Turkey joint venture ATMA - Airport Atyrau and Transportation JSC, established in 1993, offers passenger services, mail and cargo handling, aircraft servicing, water supply, and facility rentals at the airport.

Atyrau airport, located in Kazakhstan's oil capital in the west of the country, has been operating since 1979 and is named after the World War II heroine pilot Khuiaz Dospanova. It handles both domestic and international flights to destinations including Turkey, Egypt, Georgia, Russia, and the Netherlands.

According to the Qatar Financial Centre (QFC) website, QazAir Investments LLC was registered in December 2023 in the QFC. The authorized share capital is $300,000. Abraham Daniel Danino is a major participant in the company. Anna Guseva is company head.
