Ukraine, Mauritius sign visa-free travel agreement
MOSCOW. Aug 8 (Interfax) - Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba and Mauritian Foreign Minister Maneesh Gobin signed an agreement on visa-free regime between the two countries at a meeting on Thursday, Ukrainian media reported, citing the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry.
"The agreement will take effect after the completion of internal procedures in both countries," the ministry said.
The meeting took place in the Mauritian capital of Port Louis, it said. This is the first visit of the Ukrainian foreign minister to Mauritius since the establishment of bilateral relations in 1992.
"Kuleba and Gobin separately discussed trade and investment between Ukraine and Mauritius. The ministers also agreed on further steps to prepare for the conclusion of an agreement on mutual promotion and protection of investments and an agreement on avoidance of double taxation, which will contribute to the attraction of investments in Ukraine and its recovery," the statement said.
